A teenage girl on a family road trip is left for dead when her parents are brutally killed in the middle of the night. With only a Western novel to her name, she sets out to get revenge. She looks to the gunslinger in her novel for guidance, though he’s aged and full of regret (think Clint Eastwood in Unforgiven). As the narrative cuts between the novel and the real world both stories deal with themes of harsh violence and the regrets that come with it. When she finally finds her family’s killers, she enters a vicious world that goes beyond fiction.
